Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 September 2026

This policy explains what Webmarlin collects when you use webmarlin.com and the Webmarlin website builder at app.webmarlin.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to you as a Webmarlin account holder. Websites that our customers build and publish with Webmarlin are run by those customers, and their own privacy notices apply to visitors of those sites.

What we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address and password. If you upgrade to a paid plan we collect billing details through our payment provider (see below); Webmarlin does not store full card numbers.

Content you create

Pages, blog posts, images, product listings and any other content you add to a site you build. This content is stored so that we can host and publish your site. If you enable the store, we also store the orders your customers place.

Domain details

If you buy a domain through Webmarlin, we collect the contact details that domain registries require and pass them to our registrar partner to complete the registration. If you connect a domain you already own, we store the domain name and the DNS settings needed to point it at your site.

AI requests

When you ask the built-in AI to write text or generate an image, the description you type is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. We record credit usage so we can bill you correctly.

Usage and device data

Server logs, IP address, browser type, pages visited and actions taken inside the editor. We use this to keep the service running, prevent abuse and understand which features are used.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Cookies

webmarlin.com and app.webmarlin.com use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember editor preferences. We may also use analytics cookies to measure how the marketing site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; the editor will not work without the sign-in cookie.

How long we keep it

Account data and site content are kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep records for tax, accounting or legal reasons. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then removed.

Your choices

Security

Connections to Webmarlin are encrypted. Access to customer data inside Webmarlin is limited to staff who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

Webmarlin is intended for people aged 18 or over who are running a business or project. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change and update the date at the top. Material changes are announced by email or in your dashboard.
